An unfortunate encounter makes both Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi lose face for important opportunities and sets the tone for their interaction going forward.

Despite his rather blunt demeanor, Gu Weiyi shows up for Situ Mo in more ways than Fu Pei, her flaky friend, from whom she waited for more.

Trying to return the kind gestures, Situ Mo manages to get a copy of the graduation exam from Prof Jiang for Gu Weiyi. Fu Pei starts to feel pressured when Situ Mo attitude changes towards him.

Since the commute to her dorm causes problems, Situ Mo agrees to stay in her mom's friend's (madam Xu) house. Without realizing there already is a tenant, her kid also moves in later on. Another fateful hospital visit follows.

Through a series of misunderstandings, Fu Pei learns about the accommodation situation between his two friends and his concerns deepen. As they grow closer to each other, Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi are also dedicated to their work.

An unexpected visit from Situ Mo's mother reveals new aspects of the developing relationships within and around the household. Situ Mo begins to realize some truths about herself.

Shanshan tutors Fu Pei, who hopes to get closer again to Situ Mo. Sensing an opportunity, Gu Weiyi uses Situ Mo's mom as leverage for her to come back to the house. An impromptu reunion of the four has an unsettling development.

Situ Mo passes her interview and becomes more comfortable sharing the house with Gu Weiyi . Both Gu Weiyi and Fu Pei try to find excuses to be around Situ Mo and a trip to the seaside seems like the perfect occasion with a larger gang.

Director Fu and his old high school girlfriend appear in Fu Pei's life and the ripple effects reach both Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi.

A surprise gathering for Situ Mo's birthday provokes a dreamy gesture from Gu Weiyi towards an unsettled Momo/Situ Mo. The initially rejected confession of Wang Shan's feelings towards Fu Pei seems to have some effect on him after all.

Frustrated that Gu Weiyi's senior colleague, Xie Yuyin, is interested in him, Situ Mo is all prickly. Realizing he needs to step up his game, Gu Weiyi finds various suggestions from unexpected sources.

When Gu Weiyi has a fever and takes a sick leave, concerned friends come visit, trying to help, but with mixed results. Situ Mo confronts Fu Pei about his selective memory and his unspecified feelings toward Wang Shan.

Things progress between Fu Pei and Wang Shan. In the meantime, due to Xie Yuyin's constant interference, Gu Weiyi still hasn't managed to get his message across loud and clear.

Trying to make him remember what happened the night after her birthday, Situ Mo is asking him to drink the same amount of beer. The revelations, if any, have the potential to clarify a lot of their past interactions.

Despite confessing their feelings for each other, Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi struggle with the next steps. An opportunity to study in Germany arises for the 3 physicists in the lab at Gu Weiyi's University.

Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi slowly start their relationship and start to get even closer to each other, while their other friends seem to have issues on their own.

Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi spend the day together and find more activities to enjoy as a couple.

Gu Weiyi grows suspicious of the star in Situ Mo's company ad as he manifests his interest too openly towards his girlfriend. During the winter break, Gu Weiyi's family finds out about their relationship.

Their parents are overjoyed about their relationship and start planning their wedding. Gu Weiyi tries to deflate the situation. Colleagues of both are still struggling to accept their relationship.

Gu Weiyi takes care of Situ Mo after her night out with her colleagues. Everybody is busy with the graduation process.

Post-graduation issues and quarrels follow the couple.

Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi's relationship progresses even further and Gu Weiyi approaches things as a scientist, studying plenty of theory.

When the results from the exam are in, Gu Weiyi is announced to be the one qualified to enter the exchange program with Heidelberg University. Situ Mo is disappointed that Gu Weiyi didn't tell her sooner about the program.

Determined to take things into her own hands, Situ Mo visits Gu Weiyi in Germany, but is completely taken by surprise in the following events.
